Who is Eytan Oren?

Eytan Oren built his first chat app campaign for One Direction in 2013, and shortly after co-wrote the first widely shared white paper on modern chat marketing-- IPG Media Lab's "Messaging Apps: The New Face of Social Media and What It Means For Brands." Convinced that businesses needed a partner to help navigate the chat space, he formed Block Party in 2014 to offer strategy, creative services, media buying, and research for the entire ecosystem. Today, the company has evolved into a full service social media and chat marketing agency, working with a broad range of clients-- including American Museum of Natural History, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Netflix, MTV, Reebok, The New York Times, Katy Perry, Metallica, and Johns Hopkins University.

As a Tow Fellow at Columbia Journalism School, Eytan co-authored a short book in 2015-- a "Guide To Chat Apps" for news organizations. In 2016, he wrote the Knight Foundation report "Chat The Vote: How Snapchat, Amazon, and Facebook Messenger Reimagined Civic Engagement in the 2016 Election." And In 2017, he co-wrote "Humanitarian Futures for Messaging Apps"-- a study commissioned by International Committee For The Red Cross to assess how chat apps can be utilized for humanitarian aid in countries with armed conflict.

Eytan holds a degree in music from Columbia University, and began his tech career at Google.
